Chromotherapy

Our saunas also feature LED color light therapy, known as chromotherapy. Color light therapy is a technique of restoring balance by means of applying color to the body. Its history is rooted as far back as the Mayan culture, and has been valued as a remarkable source of healing. Light therapy uses colors for their proposed healing abilities in treating emotional and physical disturbances.

Do You Sauna for Weight Loss?

A Note on Weight Loss.

The first thing you need to do is pay attention to the words you use, especially when communicating with yourself! The desire and action taken to lose weight is more about mental than physical, so what does the word loss communicate to you mind? The loss of a friendship, a loved one, money..? To the mind the word loss does not evoke something positive.

Always state you goals in a positive way. Are you moving away from or towards something? Extra weight is an outward sign or symptom of underlying metabolic stress or dis-ease. A healthy body at ease, will not hold on to excess weight. Let’s shift our minds towards Health Gain - your body will take care of the rest, and it will be lasting!

Did you know studies show that infrared sauna therapy can effectively reduce body fat percentage by an average of 4 percent over a four-month period?

Weight Release Tips

Ideal temperature for fat cell detox is between 110 and 140 degrees F.

Infrared saunas detox 7x more effectively than traditional saunas.

Effective temperatures for INFRARED sauna are less than those of a regular sauna.

It’s best to detox and release fat cells as oppose to just shrinking them.

Always hydrate well to flush released toxins.

Sauna Etiquette

When in doubt, please consult your Physician prior to sauna or chromotherapy use. Do not use a sauna if you are pregnant, have serious inflammation, a fever, a communicable disease, acute bleeding, intoxicated or dehydrated.

  • Please drink plenty of water before, during, and after your session.  Closed water bottle is preferred.

  • Please refrain from wearing perfume, lotions, spray tans, or makeup as this can inhibit your skin’s ability to release toxins through sweat.

  • Please do not adjust the sauna temperature; if you need to reduce the temperature, simply open the door slightly until desire temperature is reached.

  • Please remember to close the sauna glass door gently and tightly after your session is over so the heat is contained in the sauna for the next client.

A gentle reminder that we require cancellations by the end of the previous business day. You could be charged a session if you are a no call, no show.  Being late for your appointment may reduce your sauna time if we have someone scheduled immediately after you.

PLEASE NOTE: For everyone’s health and safety please DO NOT book or come to an appointment if you have come in contact with someone, or if you have been tested, diagnosed, suspect or have symptoms associated with COVID-19. Also, please be mindful of your appointment time allowing for the necessary time to sanitize and maintain social distancing from other clients. Please feel free to bring your own towels.

Infrared Sauna Q & A

What are the health benefits?

Infrared saunas have many health benefits. Some of these include detoxification, pain relief, lowered blood pressure, weight loss, stress relief, quicker muscle and injury recovery, and improved circulation, skin appearance, and sleep.

How should I dress for my session?

To allow maximum and comfortable skin exposure for the release of sweat, wear less is best. Such as a bathing suit or shorts and a tank.

What should I do while in the sauna?

Use your time to escape, relax, and meditate Allow the infrared heat to melt away any stress or fatigue.  You may also choose to meditate, stretch, yoga or self massage.

Who should not use saunas?

If you are unsure, you should consult with your physician. Do not use if pregnant, have serious inflammation, a fever, a communicable disease, hemophilia, or are intoxicated or dehydrated. You may also want to consult with your physician regarding medications, if you are elderly, have cardiovascular or chronic conditions, are sensitive to heat, or have a condition that affects your body’s ability to sweat.

Should I set the timer?

YES! Your sauna experience should be very relaxing. The sauna timer is always set to a longer time to prevent the heaters from shutting off during your session. Watching the timer is not very relaxing. Please set timer to gently alert you when your session is over, so next client may fully enjoy their relaxation session..

What does infrared mean?

Infrared light is the invisible part of the sun’s spectrum that has the ability to penetrate deeply into the skin.

How long are the sessions?

Our standard sessions are 20 minutes.

Are the sauna suites private?

Yes, each sauna is locate in it's own room.

Can I share sauna sessions?

Absolutely! Our saunas accommodate 2 people. To share a sauna, simply book for one and add a note to your appointment or give us a call as our booking site cannot accommodate double booking. If you do choose to share a session with a friend or loved one, please be mindful and keep your conversations to a considerate volume as the saunas are not completely sound proof.

How often should I use an infrared sauna?

At least once a week, but you can go to the sauna daily if you would like! For therapeutic sessions, some clinical research results were achieved after 5 x per week for 4 weeks. It is also a great complement to your exercise routine and lifestyle medicine. Find what works best for you and your body’s needs.

Do you provide showers?

We do not have showers. We provide 2 towels, one to place on the sauna bench and the other to towel down after your session. You are welcome to bring additional personal towels if desired.
